We'd be so less fragile. If we're made from metal.

And our hearts from iron. And our minds from steel.

I love words, it may sound odd but words can be used in so many different ways and evoke so many emotions, that I find the power of language amazing. One of my idols is William Shakespeare, he was and is one of the most inspirational writers, and I find it amazing that even now his plays are still being taught. My favourite author is Cecelia Ahern, my favourite book of hers is “if you could see me now” I love the way she writes, I like to lose myself in books and her sense of fantasy in a realistic setting is exactly the genre I like. I write a lot myself, I use my poetry to write all my emotions down, as I tend to bottle them up otherwise. I’ve joined some writing communities on here, and have begun writing fanfiction; I found I needed to keep my mind active, and working to prompts helps =]. Also because of my love for words I love putting song/film quotes into my LJ and MSN titles, sometimes they just stick in my mind and I have to share them, so funny how a few words can completely change your mood. :)

I am a complete sucker for romance, I love the idea of Victorian romances with the men courting the women, okay I know that may sound odd, but even though I’m gay I do like the idea of that, maybe just because men don’t seem to be romantic anymore, or because I wish my life was like a book. I love old-fashioned Victorian buildings, I just love the way they look, the same as cottages there so unique and quaint. I love pretty things, flowers; roses and stargazer lilies, stars, hearts. I find simple things beautiful too; black and white photography, sunsets/sunrises, trees, animals. I am becoming a lover of stock icons and banners as they usually incorporate all of these things.

I was at university studying human psychology but dropped out after 6months, I love psychology but I have realised now that I should have done English or Creative Writing at university. My main interest is Psychopathology, which is the study of mental illnesses and it fascinates me. I am most interested in Schizophrenia, and Depression, which may be why my novel focuses on both of those. I actually have depression myself, which is why I am interested in learning more about it, I would love to know what caused it for me, but the course I was studying at uni didn’t focus too much on psychopathology until the third year, and it was too hard, and too boring to try and stay on that long.

I feel emotions very strongly, which is something I love, even though it isn’t always a good thing. I begun obsessing over John Barrowman (and Noel Fielding) when I was depressed, as it was then that I discovered Torchwood and The Mighty Boosh, both cheered me up and so both have that link for me, more so with John as I tend to dream of him when I’m down. I have found that although unattainable it is good to have these sorts of obsessions because they can be a quick-fix when I’m upset or something. My most recent and biggest obsession is Helena Bonham Carter, its odd because I always thought she was pretty, and I liked her in Twelfth Night, but then a few months after seeing Sweeney Todd something just switched and I became obsessed lol. I do love having strong emotions though, because even if they are bad they help me with my poetry, and as I’ve said the poems help me. And well, the good emotions are very good, even if they are quite rare for me. I am a pessimist and more used to either being down or being content that actual happiness confuses me and I over analyse it :p.

I do have strong views concerning some things, so ill give you a brief idea so that you can check that we will get on before adding me:
Sexuality:
-Any form of homophobia i will not like and will get angry about, so if you dislike anything but heterosexuality, i dont think we will get on.
Religion:
-I am an atheist; I can’t stand people who shove religion down your throat or allow it to dictate who people are.
Mental Illnesses:
-Ignorance bugs me, people often judge and stereotype things they have no idea about
Insensitive Jokes:
-I will not find any of the following topics funny; murder, rape, racism etc

Now I think that’s plenty of info on little old me, so feel free to add me if you want :) more of my posts are being friends only. And well, a girl can never have too many friends ^^
